Maggie Speaks Plays in Joplin

Maggie Speaks is excited to be part of the line up during the Joplin concert commemorating the one year anniversary of the Joplin tornado that destroyed the town. In addition the event will showcase Joplin native and country singer, Kenny Foster and a special appearance by emerging country star, Chassidy Stanton.

The concert will serve as a kickoff to the “All Roads Lead to Joplin” event at Speedco. All proceeds and donations from the event will be donated to the Joplin YMCA Outreach Program.

Cheetah Hits the Dance Floor at Brookfield Zoo Gala

We have had the privilege of playing at some really cool events. However, we’ve never had a guest like this: a baby Cheetah named Moya was the guest of honor at the Whirl at the Zoo, benefiting the Brookfield Zoo. In addition to the Cheetah, a penguin, flamingo, Fennec fox, red-tailed hawk, great-horned owl, lynx, llama and bald eagle joined the guests before dinner. And yes, we did play “Eye of the Tiger” when Moya made her entrance!

In addition to the warm fuzzies from the animals, the benefit raised around $1.3 to fund the zoo’s programming.

A Midwinter Night’s Dream Gala raises $190,000 for Riverside Foundation

We were thrilled to provide entertainment for the Midwinter Night’s Dream Gala for the Riverside Foundation. The Riverside Foundation’s Board and Auxiliary, along with 340 guests, raised a record $190,000 at its annual benefit gala, A Midwinter Night’s Dream, on February 25 at the Lincolnshire Marriott Resort Grand Marquee Pavilion.

Maggie Speaks is thrilled to announce that we will be keeping our South Side St. Patrick’s day tradition alive this year at Zante Lounge in Orland. Since 2005, Maggie Speaks has played at Sam Maguire’s in Orland Park for St. Patrick’s Day. Sam Maguire’s officially closed it’s doors in January of 2012 so we are moving the party down the street to Zante Lounge in Orland Hills.
